Shelly is a lovable 3-year-old, 45lb hound lab mix with a gentle soul and an easygoing nature. She’s spayed, fully vaccinated, and up to date on all preventatives, ready to settle right into her forever home. This sweet girl has a low-to-moderate energy level and is the perfect mix of playful and relaxed. Shelly enjoys short bursts of zoomies outside with her dog friends, happily running, sniffing, and exploring before coming back in to curl up and recharge after about 10–15 minutes. She also loves going on walks where she can take in all the new scents at her own pace.
Shelly is wonderfully social and respectful with other animals. She currently lives with multiple dogs and gets along great with them, easily picking up on their cues when playtime is over. She has also lived with four cats and even enjoys playing with them, making her a great fit for a multi-pet home, especially one with a canine sibling. When it comes to people, Shelly is just as lovely. She has been around a young baby and older teens and has done very well, showing her calm and gentle demeanor. On leash, she doesn’t pull and is not reactive to other dogs, though she can be a little curious and occasionally skittish in new situations. She’s currently building her confidence and continues to improve.
Shelly is also a dream in the home. She is fully potty trained, crate trained, and has done well with free roaming when left alone. She even has a sweet, quirky side and enjoys relaxing to soothing spa or piano music while you’re away. To top it all off, Shelly loves settling in with a good chew like cow kneecaps, beef cheek rolls, pig ear chips, or ostrich bones. If you’re looking for a gentle, low-key companion who gets along with everyone and brings a calm, cozy energy to your home, Shelly might just be your perfect match.
