Meet Ty! This 6-year-old Weimaraner/American Foxhound mix is a big, lovable guy with a heart full of love and a smile that shows up whenever he gets excited. Ty is light on his feet, playful with both humans and other dogs, and has a zest for life that makes him a joy to be around. He's thrived in his foster home with his foster mom and canine siblings, showing a particular fondness for female pups or smaller male dogs. His sweet and buoyant nature makes him a wonderful match for families with active kids, or he'd be the perfect adventure partner for an active single person or couple. Ty loves to be included in everything, from hikes and car rides to simply relaxing with his people. He's an excellent traveler, happy whether riding shotgun or resting in his crate.
Ideal Home
Ty would thrive in a home where he's included in family activities. He loves the outdoors, so a securely fenced backyard is a must. An adopter experienced with large dogs is a plus.
Ongoing Health
Ty is a healthy boy, and all our dogs are cleared by a licensed veterinarian for transport, spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Ty is crate-trained, house-trained, and doggie-door savvy. He walks well on a leash, though his hound nose can sometimes take charge when he catches an interesting scent. Continued leash training will help him stay focused. He already knows "sit" and is eager to learn more!

Transporation
Ty is currently in South Mississippi. Local and out-of-town adopters are welcome. We offer virtual meet-and-greets and can arrange transport to many states in the Northeast. This transport stop arrives late on a Friday evening at Buc-ee's in Kodak, TN. The adoption fee includes transport to this location. We cannot adopt to Rhode Island due to import restrictions.
