Mario

Mario is a brave boy who was found as a stray in the busy streets of NYC. He was understandably terrified and trembling when he was brought to a municipal shelter. We don't know what life was like for him before, but it's clear he's been through a lot. When he first arrived at Animal Haven, he was shut down, trembling in his kennel and too scared to even take treats. Our dedicated staff and volunteers have been working patiently with him daily to earn his trust, and we're overjoyed to see how far he's come! Mario has blossomed and become fast friends with many of our team, really coming out of his shell. He's a gentle soul with a big heart, and he's ready to find his forever family.

Ideal Home

Mario needs a patient and understanding family who will allow him to build his confidence at his own pace. He would likely do best in a quieter neighborhood, as he can still be a little nervous on walks with heavy foot traffic.

Training & Support

Mario has shown no aggression during his time with us, preferring to avoid situations that make him uncomfortable. He just needs a little extra time to settle into a new environment.
