Drafted into the world on April 19, 2023, Reid was named after legendary KC Chiefs coach Andy Reid, and this young pup is ready to join the roster of a winning forever home!
Reid is a sweet, sensitive, snuggly boy who specializes in one thing above all else: couch cuddles and neck naps. Seriously, this little guy will doze off on your shoulder like it’s his favorite position on the field. Reid is a well-mannered dog who is kennel-trained and knows how to sit. He is currently learning to wait and lie down, showing a willingness to expand his skills. When it comes to socializing, Reid can get along with some other dogs, particularly after slow and confidence-building introductions. He has a unique relationship with the resident cat, viewing it as his teammate. Even though the cat occasionally gives him a little attitude, Reid simply turns the other cheek in response.
Ideal Home
Reid finds little humans a bit intimidating, so he would prefer to have a cheering section of grown-ups only. For his comfort and best potty success, he requires a yard with a 6-ft. fence, and ideally, he would benefit from having a doggie door.
Ongoing Health
Reid struggles with frequent urination. He’s incredibly polite and will go to the door to signal that he needs out, but if you miss his cue, he may have an accident. His foster team has run ALL the plays — urine testing, bloodwork, thyroid, Lyme, Cushing’s, ultrasound, and even a water-deprivation test — and everything has come back normal. He simply needs quick access to the yard and a human who understands his signals. When he has regular outdoor access, he can go days without accidents.
Training & Support
Reid has attended a training class to build confidence, and he’s showing some progress. This little underdog is blossoming into a loyal, gentle, affectionate teammate who just wants someone to love. He’s the kind of pup who will celebrate every day with you, usually by snuggling as close as possible.
