About Trooper

Trooper is a sweet, easygoing French Bulldog with a big heart and an even bigger love for the simple things in life. His favorite activities include going for walks, playing in short bursts of excitement, taking long cozy naps, and soaking up all the belly rubs and affection he can get. If there's a soft spot on the couch or a sunny patch on the floor, Trooper will find it and promptly roll over to kick his feet up in pure bliss. He's a quiet companion who rarely barks and prefers a calm, relaxed environment. Trooper can be a little cautious around new people, especially strangers and loud, energetic children, but he is never aggressive--he simply keeps his distance until he feels comfortable. The good news is that "getting comfortable" doesn't take long for him, especially when patience and kindness are involved. Trooper's biggest special need is that he was born incontinent, so he requires a caregiver who is understanding and attentive to his bathroom needs. Because of this, he will do best with someone who is home more often or willing to accommodate a bit of extra care throughout the day. He has been through several homes where he was deeply loved, but ultimately found his needs to be more than expected. What Trooper truly needs now is a stable, patient home that sees him for who he is--a gentle, affectionate little dog who wants nothing more than comfort, routine, and companionship. In the right home, Trooper is going to be someone's loyal shadow, nap buddy, and quiet best friend.
