Ebony

Ebony is a sweet and mellow girl who found herself at the Charles City County shelter as a stray. Due to crowding, she was transferred to us, where she's been for about a year. We're not sure about the cause of the unique appearance of her face, whether it's from past trauma or if she was born that way, but it's become one of her many charming quirks that truly shines once you get to know her. Ebony is the epitome of a low-maintenance companion. She's completely house-trained and happy to be a homebody. You can let her out without a fenced yard; she'll do her business and come right back inside. She also calmly ignores our rooster and guinea hen when outdoors. While she enjoys lounging on her bed, she does have moments of playful energy, especially when her food is being prepared, and she loves to engage in some friendly roughhousing with her canine companions. Ebony is a truly good girl who deserves a wonderful home for the rest of her days.

Ongoing Health

Ebony is heartworm positive but has been on Heartgard for over a year. We anticipate a negative heartworm test in approximately 6-8 months. She is otherwise in good health and expected to live a long life.

Training & Support

Ebony is house-trained and a well-behaved dog. She is not bothered by other animals and doesn't require a fenced yard.
