Knox - Located in New Mexico

Knox is a 2-year-old Dutch Shepherd mix who is a big boy, weighing in at 76 pounds, and is full of puppy-like joy and love. He can be shy with new people at first, but he warms up and wants all the pets he can get. Knox loves to play with his toys and is happy playing by himself or with his people. He is learning to fetch, and while he thinks it's fun, it's not an absolute necessity for him. Knox is good on a leash and loves going on walks. He can ignore barking dogs and other noises, often just looking without reacting. For the most part, Knox is a very laid-back dog with a good off-switch. He is crate and potty trained.

Ideal Home

Knox would do well in a home that understands he needs very slow introductions to new dogs, ideally taking two weeks or more. His future family will need to ensure that any resident dogs give him the space he needs to feel comfortable. While Knox will run away if another dog pushes him, he has snapped at other dogs if he feels threatened. However, he currently plays with a group of four dogs at the shelter and does great.

Knox is neutered and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Knox is crate and potty trained. He is learning to fetch. He may need continued support in learning how to interact with new dogs in a way that feels safe for him.
