Meet Sparky, a gentle and loyal companion looking for his forever home! Sparky is an American Staffordshire Terrier mix, estimated to be born on 02/02/2022, and he weighs in at a sturdy 53lbs. This handsome boy brings a calm, steady joy into life. He's happiest by your side, whether that's for cuddles on the couch or a peaceful walk. Sparky is wonderfully mellow and easygoing at home, happily matching your pace. He enjoys walks and trips to the dog park to stretch his legs and explore. He walks nicely on a leash but can get a little excited by squirrels! Sparky does well with other dogs, especially after calm, slow introductions. He appreciates new friends taking things slow, and once he's comfortable, his sweet personality truly shines.

Training & Support
Sparky is kennel and potty trained. He can get a bit excited by squirrels on walks, but generally walks nicely on a leash.

- Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
- We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas. These are ground transports using third party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.
- Our adoption fees are based on the vetting we put into each dog. Fees for puppies (under 12 months) are higher because they require more vetting than dogs over 1 year.
- Listed breed and age are based on a best guess estimation by rescue and veterinary staff; DNA tests are not included in adoption.
- Our adopters are eligible to receive 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption.
- All of our adopters are invited to join our Alum Pupdates Facebook group, to share their story and their adorable pup with fellow Sunnyside Street Dogs adopters!
