Malouk

Meet Malouk, a 12-year-old, 85 lb German Shepherd with a heart full of love and a soul full of gentleness. He came to us after his person sadly passed away and he wasn't receiving the care he deserved. Now, Malouk is ready to find a forever home where he can be cherished. Despite being blind, Malouk navigates the world with remarkable resilience, finding joy in walks, naps, and plenty of treats. He even has moments of playful energy!

Ideal Home

Malouk thrives in a calm, low-key environment where he feels safe and settled. He would be perfectly content as an only pet, but he can also do well with calm, respectful dogs and cats who understand he can be easily startled due to his blindness. He is incredibly friendly with people and has a soft spot for children, making him a gentle presence for the right family.

Ongoing Health

Malouk is on calming medication to help manage anxiety related to his blindness, and he does best with a consistent routine.

Training & Support

Malouk is potty trained but may mark indoors, and belly bands have been an effective solution. He will also benefit from continued leash training as he can pull, especially when excited or unsure. He finds comfort in his crate and does best when crated while alone.

Transporation

Malouk is located in Texas but can be adopted locally or out of state. We coordinate safe transport and offer video meet-and-greets to ensure a perfect match.
