About Thea Pretty Baby Loves Her Humans
Look at this perfect pittie princess! Meet Thea, an affectionate sweetheart whose love language is big hugs and even bigger devotion. She's the kind of dog who will press her whole body into you as if to say, "You're my bestest friend in the whole universe!" And she'll mean it with every ounce of her heart! Her foster describes her as sweet as the day is long, and there's truly no better way to put it! Thea loves her people! She follows them like a shadow, lives for connection, and is always ready for a good treat and a booty scratchie!
We believe that Thea is a pittie mix of some sort, around 4 years old and weighs approximately 50 pounds. She has that gorgeous blue coloring and the best pittie block head! Due to her being a rescue, age and breed are our best guess and cannot be guaranteed. But there is no doubt she has 100% cutie in her genetics!
While she lives with two foster dogs, a small pup and a bigger, older companion, Thea is more of a people's dog than a dog's dog, preferring couch cuddles and human company over rowdy playdates. During her visit with us, when she was in the yard with some of our resident pups, she would join in small bursts of play before wandering back to the water bowl. She's respectful around other dogs, never policing or pushing her way in when play breaks out, but she's just as happy watching from a distance! For that reason, she'd thrive as the queen of her castle, or with a laid-back canine roommate who respects her space.
Though she's a strong girl with some of that classic bully breed power behind her, Thea is an excellent student! She's been working on her leash skills and responds well to guidance from a confident handler. A gentle tug is often all it takes to bring her focus back, especially when treats are involved! She's incredibly food motivated, which will be a great tool for continued training! She let us put on 4 different hats/bows and showed off her sit all for the sake of a treat!
Ideal Home
Because of her size and exuberant affection, Thea would do best with older kids who can handle her enthusiasm! She lives with 4 kiddos aged 12 and up in her foster home and they have an absolute blast together! Often playing tug of war with a rope toy or enjoying some quality time in the pool. She's not a match for homes with cats, as she's shown a bit too much interest in feline friends. As far as the ideal living environment, she'll do best in a home with a yard where she can stretch out her legs and lounge in the sunshine. She isn't very high energy and won't be the first one to volunteer for a quick run. But she is super devoted to her people and gets the occasional blues when they leave, so apartment life may not be the best fit for this girl.
Ongoing Health
Thea has received all her vetting, including DAPP with booster, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12-month heartworm preventative injection, and a heartworm test and treatment if needed. She has also been microchipped with free lifetime registration.
