Davidson

Meet Davidson, a 3-year-old, 53-pound Labrador mix lovingly nicknamed Davie. He's a sweet and gentle boy who is learning that the world can be a safe place. Davie came to us extremely underweight and carrying the emotional scars of past abuse, so he will need a patient and understanding adopter to help him continue building confidence. He is very timid and easily startled, tending to shut down rather than react when scared. Davie has shown no signs of aggression, only fear. Because of his sensitive nature, he responds best to calm guidance and positive reinforcement. He can be nervous around men but has already begun making progress with his foster dad, allowing pets and slowly working on going outside on leash. Over the past few weeks, he has started wagging his tail and even doing a tiny gallop when he feels brave. Davie has shown friendly interest in the foster puppies in his home, happily sniffing noses through their pen and wagging his tail. He is also crate trained and doing well without any accidents.

Ideal Home

A patient and understanding adopter who can help Davie continue building confidence. Because of his timid personality, he will likely need a very secure environment.

Training & Support

Davie is crate trained and doing well without any accidents. He responds best to calm guidance and positive reinforcement. His adopter will need to be diligent with leashing, gates, and other safety precautions.

Transporation

Davidson is located in Houston, TX, but can be transported to most states for an additional fee of $300.
