Aho / Betsy

Betsy is a super sweet girl who defines the term "nanny dog"—including raising her best friend's puppies! She is adoring of others, wonderfully patient, and has the most gentle, vigilant nature. Betsy thrives when she is close to other dogs, offering quiet comfort and companionship. If you are looking for a loyal, nurturing, and incredibly tender-hearted companion who will shower every member of your family with devoted attention, Betsy is ready to be your most caring co-pilot. She is pure love, wrapped in fur! She loves cuddling up in your pillows, or on your couch. She has learned how fun stuffies are and loves prancing with them around the yard. She is very, very sweet and LOVES meeting new people. Betsy was found in the bush in TX and is bonded with Mabel.

Ideal Home

Betsy is great with kiddos once she warms up. She adores Mama Mabel and is also friendly with other dogs in her foster home, having interacted positively with many off-leash dogs at a large dog park. She was fostered with a kitty in Texas and ignored him, so she is good with cats.

Ongoing Health

Betsy is heartworm positive, but treatment is very successful and completely manageable. MHLRM will cover the expense of treatment at one of our approved veterinarians and has already started her treatment process. Heartworm positive dogs go on to live happy, normal lives after treatment and rarely experience long-term side effects.

Training & Support

Betsy has been learning how to trust people and how to enjoy being a dog, and she has been improving steadily! She is very smart and has been quick to pick up on the basics. She is also housetrained and is good in a crate. Betsy initially was not comfortable walking on leash, but after some patience and a good harness, she is excellent and loves going for walks! She has a medium activity level; she loves playing tag and going on walks, but she is also happy to crash out and cuddle.
