Casper and Lumi aren't your "easy" dogs—and that's important to be upfront about. They've been in foster care since November 2025 after a month-long stay at Hernando County Animal Services, and heartbreakingly, they've received zero applications. They didn't come from a life where people were kind, predictable, or safe—and it shows. They're still learning what it means to trust, to relax, and to simply be dogs in a home. But here's the part that matters... they try. Every single day, they try. The moment they see their person, it's pure excitement—tails wagging, bodies wiggling, with Lumi adding her own happy little soundtrack. It's one of the few times their guard drops without hesitation. Casper is the braver of the two and often leads the way, while Lumi is still finding her confidence. Right now, she's most comfortable being touched in her crate and may press herself into the corner, but she has her own sweet quirks—like gently "booping" toes when someone is lying down. She has made beautiful progress and will happily sit near her person on the couch, as long as she's allowed to come on her own terms. Both are incredibly food-motivated, which has been key in building trust. They're not destructive, enjoy toys and chew bones, and are mostly house trained. Most importantly—they love each other deeply. Casper and Lumi are a truly bonded pair and must be adopted together. They also do wonderfully with other dogs and especially enjoy the company of calm, confident pups who help them feel safe and understood. At just 2 years old, they still have so much life and love ahead of them.
