Dagger is a 6.5-month-old spayed female Retriever/Pit Bull mix who currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. She was rescued from the woods with her mother and littermates and has grown up loved and cared for in a foster home. Dagger is named for the dagger-shaped marking on her neck. She's a fearless, playful, and affectionate pup who is also a talented escape artist and loves to test boundaries. After playtime, she enjoys cuddling and giving gentle love nibbles. Dagger is friendly with strangers and enjoys playing with other dogs. She has been around children and done well, but has not been tested with cats.
Ideal Home
Dagger is looking for a family committed to reinforcing good manners and building her confidence. A home with another friendly, well-mannered dog is preferred to help her learn appropriate play and communication. If you don't have another dog, a proactive plan for continued socialization, such as training classes or playdates, is essential. Homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time are also preferred.
Ongoing Health
Dagger is a young dog and will continue to need routine veterinary care as she grows.
Training & Support
Dagger is potty trained but is still very much an adolescent and learning about the world. She will benefit from ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice. Socialization with new people, places, sounds, and friendly dogs is crucial for building lifelong confidence.
