Meet Gwinnie! This sweet girl, a 2-3 year old Heeler mix weighing around 40 lbs, was found as a stray and sadly appeared to be pregnant. Upon arrival, it was discovered she was retaining fluids, but she's now on medication and doing much better, with the fluid receding. This fluid was a result of heartworm disease, which is disappointing as it could have been prevented with medication. The rescue will cover the cost of 2 years of slow-kill heartworm treatment for Gwinnie's adopter. She is expected to make a full recovery, as she shows no other signs of illness. Gwinnie is the most laid-back and loving dog you'll ever meet. She gets along with everyone, is quiet, and is perfect in the house, crate, car, and on a leash. Despite being failed by humans in the past, she has an abundance of love to give. She's calm, affectionate, and believes she's a lap dog, enjoying cuddles on the couch and bed. Gwinnie is great with cats and dogs, up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed, and ready to find her forever family!
