A little about them
Meet Beau, a one-year-old Belgian Malinois who has survived severe trauma and is looking for a calm, healing foster or adoptive home. After being attacked while tied to a post in a Texas park, Beau endured extensive injuries, months of treatment, bandage changes, surgery, and strict crate rest. He is almost fully healed physically and has one month of restricted activity remaining while completing heartworm treatment.
Beau is affectionate, people-oriented, and eager for connection. Once he feels safe, he enjoys gentle attention and gives big “bear hugs.” He also enjoys search-and-find games, brain work, and quiet walks.
Ideal Home
- A calm, quiet environment where Beau can continue healing
- Someone with Belgian Malinois experience or experience supporting a sensitive, traumatized dog
- Patience and understanding while he decompresses and rebuilds trust
- Ideally no other dogs, or the ability to keep him fully separated for several months
- Time for passive enrichment and gentle activities during restricted activity
Ongoing Health
Beau is almost fully healed from extensive injuries, including a serious front left shoulder wound that required surgery. He is completing heartworm treatment and has one month of restricted activity remaining.
Training & Support
Beau has spent months on strict crate rest with short periods of passive exercise. He is currently reactive to other dogs and will need a slow, extended decompression period before any future introductions. He enjoys search-and-find games, mental enrichment, and quiet walks.
