Beau - Located in LA

Meet Beau! This handsome one-year-old Belgian Malinois has been through so much but is ready to start his new life. Beau was found tied up and attacked by other dogs, suffering severe injuries. He underwent extensive treatments and surgery for a deep wound on his front left shoulder. Despite this trauma, Beau's sweet and resilient spirit shines through! He's almost fully healed physically and has just one month left of restricted activity while he completes heartworm treatment. Due to his past experiences and medical needs, Beau has spent a lot of time on crate rest, which has understandably left him a bit frustrated and in need of more engaging activities and support than his current foster can provide. He is also currently reactive to other dogs, which is a completely understandable response to his trauma. He'll need a calm environment to decompress and rebuild trust before he can be safely introduced to other dogs.

Ideal Home

Beau would thrive in a calm, quiet home where he can continue to heal. Ideally, he would be the only dog in the home, or his new family would have the ability to keep him completely separated from other dogs for several months as he recovers emotionally. Patience and understanding are key as he rebuilds trust.

Ongoing Health

Beau is finishing up heartworm treatment and has one month left of restricted activity.

Training & Support

Beau is reactive to other dogs due to past trauma. He needs a calm environment and a slow decompression period. He is enjoying search-and-find games and quiet walks.
