Scout

Meet Scout, a handsome gentleman who is approximately 5 months old and weighs around 40 lbs. He's a wonderful Shepherd mix, possibly with some Border Collie, Red Heeler, or just a super mutt! Scout and his mother and sister were found together and are now settling into their foster homes. Scout is still getting used to his new surroundings and is a bit timid with new people and experiences. He absolutely craves affection and his favorite thing right now is to cuddle! He's been slow to warm up to the resident dogs in his foster home, as he can get overwhelmed easily. Introductions are being taken slow and brief, with a "crate and rotate" game to help him adjust.

Ideal Home

Scout would thrive in a patient and understanding home that can give him the time and space he needs to build confidence. He has not yet been tested with children, small dogs, cats, or men.

Ongoing Health

Scout is up-to-date on vaccinations and is neutered.

Training & Support

Scout is doing well with crate training and potty training, with no accidents inside so far. While he may protest the crate initially, he settles down and rests after a while. He's currently low energy and hasn't shown much interest in toys, but this is understandable given his past experiences. He's making great progress and is motivated by food, especially dinner time and bully sticks!
