About Maya

Maya is a year-old, 30-pound female Labrador mix who is as loving and intelligent as she is playful! Rescued in March 2024, Maya was found with her siblings in a field and has blossomed into an energetic and sociable pup who adores affection. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but a gentle touch and some attention will have her melting in your arms. Maya is described as docile, loyal, joyful, and funny, and she loves to play, go for walks, and run. She is also crate and leash trained.

Ideal Home

Maya would thrive in an active home with a family that enjoys outdoor activities. Homeowners with a fenced backyard are preferred. Families should have an open mind about the needs and behaviors of rescued animals, possess experience with dog behavior and training, and have a high level of tolerance and patience.

Ongoing Health

Maya has completed a comprehensive health protocol including being spayed/neutered, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and microchipped. She has tested negative for heartworm and received a 4DX test. She is up-to-date on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventative for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. A health certificate and vaccination booklet are included. Potential adopters should be aware that rescued dogs may have an adjustment period and may not be house-trained.

Training & Support

Maya is crate and leash trained. However, it's important to note that rescued dogs may not be house-trained and will require patience and understanding as they adapt to a new home. Families should be prepared to provide ongoing education and support.
