Sargent

Meet Sargent! This handsome 72-pound Boxer/Australian Shepherd mix is over six years old and was surrendered by his soldier daddy. Sargent has tan and white fur, one brown eye, and one partial blue eye. His expressive ears seem to understand every word you say. He's a calm and relaxed boy when he's outdoors, enjoying the grass and sunshine. Sargent appears to be house-trained and knows commands like "sit" and "shake." He has a lot of energy and would do best with an active family who can keep his mind and body engaged. Sargent has a high prey drive and would need to be the only pet in the home to start, though with time and bonding, this might change. He can be initially fearful of men but warms up to women. Because of his past experiences, Sargent is sensitive to stressful situations, and a few visits might be necessary for him to feel comfortable with new people. He desperately needs a second chance and a loving home to decompress and thrive.

Ideal Home

Sargent does not like confined spaces and would do best in a home where he is not crated. He needs an active family who can provide plenty of physical and mental stimulation. Due to his high prey drive, he would do best as the only pet in the home. He is also initially fearful of men and may require multiple visits to feel safe.
