About Bear

Bear is a 10-month-old, 53-pound bundle of joy and energy! This handsome Labrador Retriever mix is as sweet as can be and loves making new friends, whether they have two legs or four. He gets along famously with dogs, cats, and children, and truly shines when he has company. Bear has a happy-go-lucky spirit and is always up for an adventure.

Ideal Home

Bear thrives in an active home where he can get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. A securely fenced yard is a must – no electric or underground fences, please! He would be happiest with another playful dog to romp with, or access to a doggy daycare would be a fantastic option for him.

Ongoing Health

Bear is fully vetted, neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and on heartworm and flea prevention.

Training & Support

Bear is house-trained but not yet crate-trained. He does have some food-related resource guarding, a habit from his street days. While he's comfortable with his trusted caregiver, he can get protective of his food around other dogs. He must be fed separately. This behavior is expected to diminish with consistent positive reinforcement training and timely meals. We believe with commitment, trust, and a predictable routine, this behavior will fade.
