Meet Nora – A Gentle Soul Ready for Her Second Chance
Nora is a stunning 2-year-year-old Presa Canario with a heart as big as her beautiful frame. Though her journey so far hasn't been easy, she hasn’t let it dim her gentle spirit. Nora has already had 2–3 different owners in her short life and was bred at least once before arriving at animal control with a fractured pelvis. Despite the pain and upheaval, she has shown nothing but sweetness and resilience. This special girl is healing now, and every day she reminds us how incredibly kind and affectionate she can be. She's calm, soulful, and carries herself with a quiet dignity that touches everyone she meets. She has a stuffed bear she carries around everywhere – it's adorable! Nora is very food motivated and loves to work for treats. She tolerates ear cleaning and having pills given to her without issue. She is great in the house, doesn't jump on furniture, is good in her crate, and ignores the other dogs in the home.
Ideal Home
Nora deserves a forever home where she can finally feel safe, cherished, and respected. Presa Canarios are a unique and powerful breed — loyal, protective, and deeply bonded to their people. Nora is no different. She’ll thrive in a home with someone who understands the breed’s needs: strong leadership, consistent structure, and a whole lot of love. She may do well with a like-sized male dog.
Ongoing Health
Nora is currently healing from a fractured pelvis and will be undergoing surgery. She is receiving care and her foster parents are able to administer ear cleaning and give her medication.
Training & Support
Nora has some food-based reactivity around other dogs when she is eating, which is understandable given her past. She has no reactivity around humans.
