This handsome boy is Blaze! He's a 1-year-old, 62 lb sweetheart with a heart of gold and a playful spirit. Blaze was rescued as the sole survivor of a litter born under an abandoned house. He's been living in a foster home since then, where he's learned to sit, fetch, and enjoys playing ball. He's also had positive interactions with neighborhood teens and gets along well with a small dog in a neighboring yard. Blaze is a smart and eager-to-learn pup who craves affection and mental stimulation. He's moderately energetic and would love an active family to call his own. He can be a bit strong on leash and needs some gentle training to master loose-leash walking, but he responds wonderfully to positive reinforcement and affection. He's not yet fully grown and may reach up to 75 lbs, so while he'd likely do great with kids, a home with older, sturdier children might be best, as he could accidentally knock over a little one due to his size. Blaze is ready for his second chance at a happy life and we know he'll be an incredible companion in the right home!
Ideal Home
Blaze would thrive in an active home with a family who can provide him with plenty of physical and mental stimulation. He'd likely do well with older, sturdy children.
Ongoing Health
Blaze is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
Training & Support
Blaze has had minimal leash training due to his strength and needs further guidance to walk gently without pulling. He is smart and eager to learn, responding well to affection and positive reinforcement.
