Kona is a charming and playful young pup, estimated to be around a year old. He was rescued from the Stockton Shelter just before his scheduled euthanasia, and he's blossomed into a remarkable companion. Kona is eager for adventure and ready to be your loyal friend through it all. With his athletic build and inquisitive nature, he loves exploring and meeting new people and dogs. He's socialized with small, medium, and large dogs, and he takes gentle corrections from the little ones with ease. Kona also rides perfectly in the car. While he's working on his leash reactivity and excitement when meeting new dogs, and can resource guard his favorite treats (though it's manageable even in a multi-dog household), he's a quick learner with a joyful spirit. He'll often alert bark at the door, and we're working on his socialization around this. His leash manners are excellent. Kona is a smart dog who thrives with clear rules and consistent boundaries, which is typical for many working breeds. He has a good balance of energy and has learned to settle nicely, a trait that will continue to grow as he matures.
