Owen Wilson is an incredibly outgoing 9-year-old Australian Cattle Dog Mix with a definite "WOW" factor! He's a social butterfly who sees strangers as future friends and absolutely adores being around his people. Owen is affectionate and playful, always ready for a good snuggle on the couch after a fun romp in the yard. He was rescued as a puppy and has known nothing but love, but unfortunately, his previous family welcomed a young child, and Owen found the new dynamic a bit too overwhelming. He previously lived happily as part of a pack with other dogs and would also thrive as an only dog, receiving all the attention. Owen weighs 47lbs and is a great travel companion, enjoying car rides and naps.
Ideal Home
Owen would thrive in a loving home without young children, as the loudness and unpredictable movements of little ones can make him anxious and trigger some fear-based reactivity. He does great with older kids and other dogs, but a home where he can be the center of attention would be ideal. He prefers sleeping on a couch or bed over a crate.
Ongoing Health
Owen is neutered, microchipped, house-trained, and fully up-to-date on all his vaccines. He had his yearly check-up on December 8th and has no current health concerns.
Training & Support
Owen is house-trained and crate-trained, though he prefers a comfy spot on the furniture. He walks well on a leash but can get scared of cars on busy streets, so quieter neighborhoods or park walks are best. Providing him with a stable and calm environment will help him continue to feel secure.
