A little about them
Otto is a young, affectionate Miniature Pinscher mix with a sleek red coat, velvety ears, and a huge appetite for affection. This curious, playful little dog loves being close to his people and will happily follow you from room to room. Once his energy needs are met, he enjoys relaxing beside you under a blanket or with his head tucked under your arm.
Ideal Home
Otto would do best with an experienced dog owner, ideally someone familiar with terriers or Miniature Pinschers. He is active, athletic, and curious, so he needs daily walks and yard play rather than only a quick walk around the block. He can be a solo dog while still enjoying visiting dogs and friendly canine encounters. Otto has lived successfully with a cat and a dog-savvy toddler.
His new family should be prepared to help him settle during the first few days, when he may pace or go into “search mode.” Miniature Pinschers can be vocal, although Otto has been very quiet in foster care. His short, dense coat sheds more than expected.
Ongoing Health
Otto was recently neutered. His adoption fee includes deworming, flea and tick prevention, vaccinations, a nose-to-tail health exam, dental care if needed, and any additional surgical care required. He also receives 30 days of Trupanion pet insurance with immediate coverage on adoption day for illnesses or injuries that are not pre-existing.
He marked during his first few days in foster care, so a few days of belly bands will be provided. This behavior typically fades after neutering but may recur after a move.
Training & Support
Otto is a quick learner who is doing well with “come” and “sit,” learning household routines, and using the stairs. He is good on outdoor bathroom breaks and has selected a spot in the yard for his business. Professional training would help him fine-tune his skills and learn to slow down.
