Nala is an 8-year-old, spayed female Shepherd/Retriever mix who weighs 52 pounds. She was found abandoned when her owners moved, but thankfully a kind networker spotted her and brought her into a foster home. Nala is one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet, and her tail has never stopped wagging! She has a peaceful presence that makes her a joy to have around, striking a wonderful balance between being relaxed and fun-loving.
Ideal Home
Nala would thrive in a home that appreciates her calm and loving nature. Whether it's a family with children, a home with another friendly dog, or a quieter household, she's ready to settle in and be a loyal, gentle companion. She would do well with kids of various ages, especially with respectful interactions. While she would enjoy having a canine companion, she would also thrive as a solo dog soaking up all the love.

Training & Support
Nala is a house-trained and crate-trained girl who rests comfortably in her crate for several hours during the day and overnight. She walks nicely on a leash with a calm pace, though she may occasionally need a little encouragement to keep going. Nala has good manners overall, but she may prefer some space while eating, especially around unfamiliar dogs. She has shown no issues with people around her food and hasn't displayed toy guarding behaviors.

Applications start by contacting us through Wags. If you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal, and vet reference checks are required to complete the process.

Nala is currently located in Houston, Texas. She can be transported to a city near you once approved. Transport is included in our adoption donation.
