Dani is a devoted, four-year-old American Pitbull Terrier/Labrador Retriever mix who embodies resilience and affection. This sleek, black 52-pound girl with bright white accents carries herself with quiet strength and a heart full of warmth. Found as a young pup on the streets of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dani faced significant medical challenges. Thanks to dedicated care, she not only recovered but blossomed into the deeply bonded and loving companion she is today. The small scars on her paws are gentle reminders of her past, but her spirit is pure devotion.

With her people, Dani is exceptionally loving, often described as a "full-on bed sleeper" who happily curls up close. She forms a deep emotional bond and loves to stay near her humans, following them from room to room. Dani is intuitive and comforting, offering gentle licks when she senses sadness. She enjoys tug-of-war, peaceful walks, and knows commands like sit, stay, wait, and come. She thrives with structure and clear guidance, and has worked extensively with a humane trainer using positive reinforcement. She is house-trained, spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. Dani is respectful in the home and does not engage in destructive behaviors.

Ideal Home

Dani requires a home where she can be the only pet due to pronounced fear-based reactivity toward other dogs. She may take time to warm up to new situations or people, and can initially be wary of some new men. Thoughtful, safe introductions are key for her to relax and potentially engage in play before settling into calmly ignoring them. She would thrive with an experienced, confident pet parent who can provide a calm, consistent routine and a caring environment. A fenced yard in a quieter setting is ideal.
