Meet our husky girl Lucy Van Pelt!
If you're looking for a cuddly co-pilot, look no further than Lucy Van Pelt. True to her name, she's a strong, intelligent gal with plenty of personality and a heart of gold. Her foster family says, "She is the fifth husky our family has fostered and by far the smartest!" With her piercing blue eyes, she might look like she's judging you, but she is actually an absolute love bug who is deeply devoted to her pack. At 4 years old and 45 lbs, Lucy is incredibly smart and highly treat-motivated. She is eager to keep learning and has already shown remarkable results in obedience training. Lucy is house-trained and doesn't bark at visitors.
Ideal Home
Lucy thrives on a structured routine that includes two 45-minute walks a day alongside a 30-minute exercise session for running, fetching, or playing. She is fantastic at pacing herself and happily hangs out on her bed or sits on the deck watching the squirrels during quiet hours. She would do best in a work-from-home environment or in a household with other dogs to keep her company during the day. Lucy is great with both dogs and most likely cats.
Ongoing Health
Lucy had a skin condition that is now healing perfectly. She is on healthy foods and thriving. She is a healthy eater who loves fresh snacks like apples, cucumbers, and crunchy broccoli stems. Lucy is microchipped, spayed, and fully vaccinated.
Training & Support
Lucy is a quick learner and is devoted to her pack. True to her husky roots, she is beautifully vocal and will let out a howl if you're eating something delicious without sharing or if her dinner is taking too long. For afternoon entertainment, she loves working on chew toys or enjoying frozen treats like banana slices frozen in water.
