Meet Jake! This handsome chocolate brindle boy is about a year old and weighs around 45 pounds. Jake is in his teenage phase, full of curiosity, athleticism, and a big personality. He came to us still building his confidence and can be a little cautious in new situations, needing time to process new people, places, and experiences. He's not fearful, but rather thoughtful, and appreciates a patient approach to earning his trust.
Once Jake feels comfortable, his true personality shines! He's a natural athlete who loves to be active and engaged. He enjoys puzzle toys and takes his playtime very seriously, even if his unique ball-catching technique involves his paws – it's quite endearing! Jake is also deeply affectionate, offering enthusiastic kisses that sometimes lean towards playful nibbles as he learns appropriate greetings. A sure sign of his happiness is when his little tongue peeks out of the left side of his mouth and stays there, which is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. Jake has all the makings of a wonderfully loyal companion, needing structure, patience, and consistency as he continues to grow and learn.
