Meet Festus! This adorable 7-year-old Beagle weighs in at about 32lbs and is what we affectionately call a "Kettle Corn" pup – a perfect blend of sweet with just a dash of salty that makes him utterly irresistible! Festus absolutely adores his people and quickly forms a strong bond, always wanting to be by their side. While he can coexist with other dogs, it might take him a little time to warm up to them. He does enjoy playing, but his heart truly belongs to his humans, and he'd love to have their undivided attention. This makes him a wonderful candidate for a home as the only dog, or with a canine companion who doesn't mind Festus being a little bit "bossy" at times.
Festus is a pro on the leash, that is, until those mischievous squirrels come into view! His protective instincts kick in, and he feels it's his duty to alert his family to their presence. He's already mastered "sit" and is learning to "shake," proving he's a smart cookie eager to please. Festus thrives on companionship and would do best in a home where someone is often around. While he can manage when you're at work, be prepared for him to express his displeasure with his charming beagle voice, which is why we believe he'd be happiest in a home without shared walls.
Ideal Home
Festus would do well as an only dog to soak up all the love, or with another dog who is understanding of his desire to be the center of attention. He needs a home where people are home often and would not do well in a dwelling with shared walls due to his vocal nature.

Festus is vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Festus knows basic commands like "sit" and is learning "shake." He needs consistent redirection when it comes to barking at squirrels. He may vocalize when left alone, so a home without shared walls is recommended.
