Balu is a sweet and playful young dog with a gentle heart. He can be a little shy at first when meeting new people, but with kind words and a few gentle pets, he quickly starts wagging his tail and gaining confidence. He loves affection and enjoys playing, making him a wonderful companion once he feels safe. Balu is crate trained and does well in a routine. He has spent most of his life in a shelter, having been there since he was a baby. Despite this, he has grown into a loving and joyful dog with so much love to give. Balu was rescued after being abandoned along with his sisters in a planter outside a school when they were very young and crying. Thanks to rescue, Balu was given a second chance at life. It's essential to recognize that rescued dogs may have experienced trauma before arriving and may require an adjustment period. Patience and understanding are crucial when dealing with rescued dogs as they may have fears and anxieties due to past experiences and need time to adapt to new environments and people.
Ideal Home
A home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. Families with a real intention to rescue a dog, not just adopt, and an open conscience about the needs of street animals. Experience in dog behavior and training is preferred, or a willingness to hire a trainer. High tolerance and patience are needed for this rescued dog.
Ongoing Health
Balu has received a Spay/Neuter Certificate, 2 shots of DHPPI Vaccine, Rabies Vaccine, Bordetella Vaccine, and is dewormed. He is microchipped and has a 4DX Test and Certificate, Heartworm test Negative Certificate, and a Health Certificate. He also receives Monthly Preventive Protection Nexgard Spectra (fleas, ticks, and heartworm).
Training & Support
Balu is not house-trained. It is important to understand that many rescued dogs are not potty-trained due to the challenges of providing individual training in a shelter environment. Patience and understanding are key to helping him adjust and learn.
