Josie is believed to be a pittie mix, approximately 3.5 years old and weighing 60 lbs.
While she may not be a "cuddly" dog just yet, Josie absolutely tolerates affection and enjoys resting her head on your legs. You don't adopt a dog like Josie for instant fireworks; you adopt her because you believe in the quiet magic of trust being earned. She finds joy in routine, gentle coexistence, and the "small wins" like a relaxed body, a soft glance, or a tail wag from across the room. She's a gentle soul who makes life feel calmer just by being there.
Josie is highly motivated by food – a piece of French fry or the smell of popcorn is irresistible! She takes treats so gently, her soft lips will barely tickle you. She is a true "dog's dog" and thrives in the company of other dogs. She's currently fostered with a large, diverse pack and two teenagers, and she's completely unfazed by feline friends, whether they're kittens or lazy loungers. A home with at least one other confident dog is non-negotiable, as she follows their lead and melts seamlessly into the pack. She is healthy and respectful, and once trust is earned, she's ready for some playful wrestling!

Transport includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (with pickup options in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You can track your pet's journey in real time and receive photo updates. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
