KAIA*

Kaia is a beloved senior sweetie with fans across the shelter and the city of Tucson! She spends Thursday through Sunday afternoons at one of PACC’s partner organizations, Tucson Rescue Now (TRN), where people can meet pups away from the shelter environment and the pups can soak up lots of attention and love in a quiet, comfy place. Kaia hopes that if you don’t have the opportunity to meet her at TRN, you’ll come to PACC to see what all the wonderful fuss is about! Kaia spent a bit of time in a foster home, and her foster had this to say: “Kaia is such a sweetheart! It has been an absolute pleasure fostering her. She’s a cuddler who’s happy to sleep beside me while I’m working – and functions as a great foot warmer when she’s laying under my desk. However, her forte is curling up on the couch and laying her head in my lap. She’s a people person and is friendly to everyone. Kaia doesn’t bark, snore, or slurp. Okay, she does bark at the Amazon guy, but she doesn’t bark at people or dogs walking by when we’re out. She greets me with a smile and wagging tail, but never jumps up. She takes treats like a dainty princess. And it is simply below her royal status to beg for attention or food. She’s easygoing, calm, and content. We walked short distances throughout the day, with respect to her mild arthritis. I’d say that 95% of the time it’s loose-leash heaven with a normal harness and allowing some scratch and sniff. Very manageable. It’s true she spent the day rotating through different sofas, soft rugs, and the dog bed in my bedroom. Yet she had bursts of playful energy. Kaia is very low maintenance- at some point in our lives, we want to simply relax with a loyal roommate. This dog has got the personality and the good soul to be that best friend. She is house trained, sweet polite, patient and cuddly.” Some of Kaia’s mega-fans at the shelter have also said: “Holy smokes is Kaia the SWEETEST!! This senior baked potato is all love. Super calm and sweet, easy to leash and walk. I often take her and her kennelmate to a play where she sits by my side soaking up attention, gently leaning on me. She gives the sweetest kisses and is just the best old lady. If you're looking for a calm and mellow companion this is your girl!!” and “Kaia is a very nice and easygoing older gal who deserves a comfortable retirement home and someone to pamper her. She is a big girl with a big heart; she’s very lovable and appreciates nothing more than being with people. She's a calm, gentle, receptive, mild-mannered, BEAUTIFUL BUTTERBALL. This tender-hearted gal has some age-related arthritis and she's a bit on the lazy side so the best home for her would be one where she's not expected to do too much but one where she can get some gentle exercise. She might be perfect with a companion who can take her on some slow strolls, share some healthy food, and spend plenty of time snoozing together on the couch.”

Kaia would do best in a home where she can relax and enjoy her golden years. She is described as being a bit on the lazy side and not expected to do too much.

Kaia is house trained, polite, and sweet. She does not bark excessively and does not jump up. She is easygoing, calm, and content.
