Meet Lily! She's a sweet, loving 5-year-old Shepherd mix weighing around 65 pounds. Lily was rescued from Mexico as a puppy and is a gentle soul who can be a little timid at first, but she warms up quickly to those who show her kindness. Her favorite pastime is gazing into your eyes while you gently stroke her face. She also has a delightfully goofy side; when she's excited about something like food or attention, her whole body wiggles with her happy tail! Lily enjoys basking in the sun or lounging by an open door to catch a fresh breeze and listen to nature's sounds. She loves walks, but she's also a bit of a homebody and can get tired on long hikes. Loud noises like fireworks make her nervous, and she'll seek comfort in a closet or pantry if she hears them. Lily is house-trained and knows some basic commands, plus she's highly motivated by tasty treats!
Ideal Home
Lily would do well in a home that appreciates quiet companionship. While she has lived with other dogs and generally gets along with them, and should do fine with older children, we haven't had the chance to see how she'd do with cats.
Ongoing Health
Lily is spayed, healthy, and up to date on all her vaccines. A couple of years ago, she underwent surgery for a torn ACL ligament and recovered beautifully. She experienced some joint pain for a period, but this resolved once she reached a healthier weight.
Training & Support
Lily is already house-trained and knows some basic commands, making her a smart and eager learner. Her food motivation means training with positive reinforcement will be very effective.
