Meet Rufus, a 2-year-old, 22lb bundle of fluff who's a delightful mix of Cockapoo and Shih Tzu. He's got brains, a sweet disposition, a whole lot of personality, and is ready for his moment in the spotlight! Rufus was found wandering the streets in Texas, a scruffy mop of fur with a big heart and a tail that wouldn't stop wagging, even when he was a mess. Now cleaned up and safe, he's revealed his true self: joyful, clever, and incredibly affectionate. He's the perfect size for cuddles, loves belly rubs, and is always eager to please.
Ideal Home
Rufus would thrive in a home with active humans who can keep up with his exuberance. He loves other dogs and would enjoy having a playful canine companion, but he'd also be happy as an only dog. Due to his high energy and enthusiasm, Rufus is best suited for a home without children under 10.
Ongoing Health
Rufus is fully vetted and ready for his forever home! He is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up to date on all his vaccinations.
Training & Support
Rufus is house-trained and crate-trained when kept on a schedule. He knows "sit," comes when called, and is a fast learner because he genuinely wants to be a good boy. He's not naughty, just very enthusiastic about life!

Transportation
Rufus is an "out of town pet" and is not at this location. Our rescue is based in Houston, Texas, and Rufus and all our animals are housed in and around Houston. We arrange transport for approved adopters. Once approved, dogs are scheduled for transport via climate-controlled vans with a team of two drivers who provide real-time updates. You will be included in a group chat to track Rufus's journey to a location near you, with an estimated time of arrival. Please note that traffic and weather can affect travel times, and updates will be provided. Dogs on transport stop for breaks and are crated for safety.
