Meet Arthur! This handsome 5-year-old, 78-pound neutered Staffordshire Terrier/Retriever mix has a big personality and an even bigger heart. Arthur is the perfect combination of playful adventure buddy and affectionate cuddle companion. He was found roaming a park and brought to a local shelter, but thankfully, a foster home stepped up to help him. Arthur approaches every day with enthusiasm and is a moderate energy guy who enjoys playtime, exploring, and spending time with his people. He's a social butterfly who has successfully interacted with dogs of various sizes and is good at reading social cues. Arthur is also curious about cats and pot-bellied pigs, showing no aggression, though supervision is always recommended. He has spent time with a young child and did well, but due to his size and excitement, he could accidentally knock over a small child during play. Arthur is fully house-trained and crate-trained, settles nicely in his crate, and even enjoys longer periods of crating. He is also a champion car rider and will give you his full attention if you mention "car ride"! Arthur is outgoing, playful, curious, affectionate, and incredibly sweet. He loves toys, spending time with his people, and soaking up attention. While he might pull a bit on walks initially, he settles into the routine well.
Ideal Home
Arthur would thrive in a home that can provide regular exercise, structure, and plenty of opportunities to be part of the family. While he doesn't need another dog, he would do well with people who enjoy including their dog in everyday adventures. A family that understands his energetic nature and can provide appropriate outlets for his enthusiasm would be ideal.
