Josie Ella isn't your typical rescue dog, and that's exactly why someone out there is going to fall for her, hard. Her stunning face might have stopped your scroll, but looks aren't everything. What makes Josie special lives much deeper than her gorgeous features – she is a peace bringer. At her core, Josie is a slow bloom. She is quiet, observant, and guarded, but we are incredibly proud of her progress. Josie is believed to be a pittie mix, approximately 3.5 years old, and currently weighs 60 lbs. She is a rescue dog, and with any rescue, it's always a mystery, and we cannot guarantee breed or age.
Is Josie a "cuddly" dog? Not yet. Will she tolerate affection? Absolutely. She will lay there calmly and allow it. Will she one day seek it out on her own? Maybe. Does she like to cuddle on your legs? YES! But you don't adopt a dog like Josie for the "fireworks." You adopt her because you believe in the quiet magic of trust being earned. You are the type of person who finds meaning in routine, gentle coexistence, and the "small wins": a relaxed body, a soft glance, or a tail wag from across the room. That's a small win in Josie's book. She is a gentle soul who makes life feel calmer just by being there. The key to her heart is food! Like many of us, Josie is highly motivated by her stomach. She can't resist a french fry or the smell of movie-night popcorn. She takes treats so gently that her soft lips will barely tickle you. Josie is a dogs dog through and through. She is currently fostered with a large, diverse pack of dogs and 2 teenagers. She is excellent with feline friends, completely ignoring them whether they are kittens or "lazy loungers." A home with at least one other dog is non-negotiable. Other dogs are essential to her confidence; she follows their lead and melts seamlessly into the pack. She is healthy and respectful. She won't initiate play until she trusts, and then it's game on, wrestle mania. Josie is for the person who understands that love doesn't always have to be loud to be profound. We are willing to test Josie with anything you need to ensure a perfect match.
