About Navajo (Nav)
Navajo, a 6.5-year-old, neutered male Pitbull mix weighing 75 pounds, is a sweet, affectionate, and easygoing pup ready to be your loyal adventure buddy. He offers a perfect blend of playful energy and relaxed companionship, happy to join you on a walk or simply snuggle up for a cozy evening. Navajo enjoys playing with other dogs, preferring one-on-one or small group interactions over large, chaotic packs. He's adaptable to different play styles, sometimes zooming around joyfully and other times content to explore. While he generally reads social cues well, he may occasionally need a gentle redirection if he gets a bit too excited. He has done well with dogs of all sizes, but is most comfortable with dogs his own size or smaller, and proper introductions help him succeed with larger dogs. Navajo is a polite and non-reactive walker, though he might pull a little at the start of a walk when excited. He's fully house-trained and crate-trained, and can be left loose in the house without any signs of separation anxiety. Navajo is calm, chill, and easy to live with at home. He loves meeting new people and has been good with children, though interactions with very young children haven't been fully tested. He would do best in a home without cats, as he has shown a strong prey drive towards them. Navajo is affectionate, playful, smart, curious, silly, and independent. He adores toys and is a champion cuddler. He's also an excellent car rider, great at the vet, has no issues with stairs, and loves unusual nap spots. Navajo has shown no resource guarding. He arrived in foster care needing dental work, and several damaged teeth were removed, but his remaining teeth are healthy and he still happily chews his favorite bones.
Ideal Home
Navajo would thrive in a stable, moderately active home that enjoys daily walks, occasional outings, and lots of affection. He doesn't need an ultra-active lifestyle, just consistent exercise, love, and companionship. He could do well as an only dog or with a compatible canine friend. Navajo would do best in a cat-free home.
Ongoing Health
Navajo needed dental work upon arrival, and several damaged teeth, including his canines, were removed. His remaining teeth are healthy.
Training & Support
Navajo generally reads social cues well with other dogs, but may occasionally need gentle redirection if he gets too excited. He can pull a little at the start of walks when excited, but settles into a pleasant walking partner.
