Rafa Romano Ringo is an approximately six-year-old, 17-pound Chihuahua mix with a personality as big as his swagger. He’s a confident and capable little gentleman who prefers to march proudly by your side rather than be carried. Rafa is food motivated, knows "sit," and is a quick learner. He's currently thriving in a foster home with other dogs, cats, and farm animals, and he's both house-trained and crate-trained. Rafa is the perfect balance of independent and affectionate, happy to entertain himself but always ready for attention. He appreciates a little time to warm up to new people, but once he trusts you, he's a loyal and playful companion with a great sense of humor.
Ideal Home
Rafa would love a family who appreciates his big personality and understands that small dogs can be confident and capable sidekicks. He is not looking for someone who wants to carry him around in a purse, but rather someone who sees him for exactly who he is.
Ongoing Health
Rafa is up-to-date on all vetting, including vaccinations and deworming. He has been microchipped and will receive a heartworm preventative.
Training & Support
Rafa is house-trained and crate-trained. He is food motivated and knows "sit." He listens well and is not shy about letting you know what he wants. He may need about 30 minutes to settle in and get to know new people.

Transportation
Rafa is located in Texas but can be transported nationwide via the rescue's USDA-certified transport system. Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (pickup in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT). There is an $87 surcharge for transport due to rising costs.
