BERNADETTE

Bernadette is a 6-year-old, 53 lb bundle of joy looking for her forever home! She's a sweet and affectionate girl, but not in an overwhelming way. Bernadette enjoys playtime and short jogs, but is just as happy to relax on the couch with you afterward. She loves people, is friendly to strangers, and absolutely adores puppies! While she's good with older children due to her playful and strong nature, she can be dominant with other dogs and prefers slow introductions. She's not sure about cats. Bernadette is house-trained, crate-trained, and great in the car. She enjoys her meals and is very patient when it comes to human food. She sleeps in her human's bed at night and is crated when home alone. She walks well on a leash and is calm at the vet.

Ideal Home

Bernadette would thrive in a home that enjoys playing with her and giving her attention. She's not overly needy and doesn't require constant attention. A short walk and some toys will make her happy. She adapts very well and could do well in various living situations, from the city to the country, apartments to houses with yards.

Ongoing Health

Bernadette is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, which will be completed at the beginning of March. She is also starting eye allergy treatment with Zenrelia.

Training & Support

Bernadette knows basic commands like sit, stay, no, and down. She can occasionally play a bit too rough when excited, but a firm "no" settles her down. Nail trims are an area she could improve on. She is never begged or bum-rushed for food and does not exhibit food aggression with people, but should always be fed separately from other dogs.
