About Bear

Bear is a delightful German Shepherd/Malamute mix, likely born in mid-November. She's a beautiful bundle of fluff with soulful eyes and a gentle spirit. Bear's past has been a bit rough; she was abandoned at just six weeks old and later found with a severe skin infection and a broken spirit. Thankfully, she's made a full recovery from her skin issues, but she still needs a little extra time and understanding with new people. She can be a bit shy and unsure in new situations, often cowering down. However, with gentle encouragement and plenty of praise, she blossoms! Her wagging tail is a clear sign that she's eager for love, even if she's still learning to trust. Bear gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has shown no interest in the cats in her foster home.

Ideal Home

Bear would thrive in a patient home where her adopter is willing to put in the extra effort she needs to become a confident and loving pet. Due to her thick coat, she'll need to be mostly indoors, especially during the warm California weather. A home with a consistent schedule and structure will help her feel secure and flourish.

Ongoing Health

Bear has fully recovered from a previous skin infection.

Training & Support

Bear is still learning to trust new people and may be unsure in new situations, requiring gentle correction and praise. Her adopter should be prepared to provide this consistent, positive support.
