Meet Ty! This 6-year-old Weimaraner/American Foxhound mix is a big, lovable guy with a heart full of joy and a zest for life. Ty is light on his feet, playful with people and other dogs, and has a signature smile that appears when he's excited, which is often! He truly thrives on being included in family activities, whether it's a hike, a car ride, or just relaxing with his favorite people. Ty is an excellent traveler, happy to ride shotgun or settle into his crate. His DNA shows he's 52% Weimaraner, with American Foxhound, Siberian Husky, and a touch of Chow Chow mixed in.
Ideal Home
Ty would do well in a home with active children and would make a perfect adventure partner for an active single person or couple. He does best with female pups or male dogs smaller than his 70lb frame. A securely fenced backyard is a must for this outdoors-loving boy. An adopter experienced with large dogs is a plus.
Ongoing Health
All our dogs are cleared by a licensed veterinarian for transport and arrive spayed/neutered with age-appropriate vaccines completed and microchipped.
Training & Support
Ty is crate-trained, house-trained, and doggie-door savvy. He walks well on a leash, but his hound nose can sometimes lead the way when he catches an interesting scent. Continued leash training will help him stay focused. He already knows how to sit on command, especially for a treat, and is eager to learn more!

Transporation
Ty is currently located in South Mississippi. Local and out-of-town adopters are welcome. For out-of-town adopters, we offer virtual meet-and-greets and can arrange transport to many states in the Northeast. Transport to Kodak, TN arrives late on a Friday evening at Buc-ee's. The adoption fee includes transport to this location. We cannot adopt to Rhode Island due to import restrictions.
