Meet Barry White!

Barry is a 7-month-old Pit Bull/Lab mix with a heart full of love, a face made for kisses, and a personality that makes it impossible not to smile. He's the perfect blend of cool, cuddly, and goofy! With his soft puppy eyes, adorable smile, and floppy ears, Barry has a way of looking at people that makes them feel like they're the greatest thing he's ever seen. He absolutely loves people and thrives on affection, enjoying leaning on them, sitting in their laps, and showering them with kisses. His favorite thing is to gently lean against you while soaking up attention, gazing up with pure contentment.

While he's a world-class cuddle bug, Barry is still very much a puppy! He has a silly side that comes out during playtime, where he'll grab a toy, bounce around, wrestle with dog friends, or go on joyful zoomies. Watching him play is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. As soon as playtime is over, he's back to being a snuggle expert. Barry is the definition of balanced – playful without being overwhelming, affectionate without being clingy, and active enough for adventures but relaxed enough for couch cuddles.

Ideal Home

Barry gets along well with other dogs but prefers a slow introduction to new canine friends. He would do well in a home with another friendly dog or as the sole canine companion. He showed sweet and respectful behavior towards a kitty, and while he'd still benefit from proper introductions and dog-savvy cats, he appears to be a polite housemate. Barry has also been wonderful with teenagers, showing gentleness and respect.

Ongoing Health

Barry is up-to-date on all vetting, which includes DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, flea prevention, and a 12-month heartworm preventative injection. He has also been heartworm tested.

Training & Support

Barry is still learning leash walking, as he finds many things more interesting than polite walks. However, he is young, eager to learn, and food motivated, making this an excellent time to continue building his skills and confidence. Our trainers on staff assess and modify behavior as needed, creating individualized plans to help prepare dogs for their future families.

Transporation

Barry is located in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travels safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Our transport includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada. For Canadian adopters, pick-up is available in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
