Introducing Grover Chillington!
Grover's journey began at a high-kill shelter in Houston, where he was unfortunately placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, a wonderful foster family stepped in, recognizing his incredible potential. Grover is the epitome of chill, so much so that he was initially estimated to be 6 years old. However, multiple veterinarians now believe he's likely between 2-3 years old, definitely not older than 3. Weighing around 48 pounds, he's the perfect medium-sized companion with an old soul.
Grover thrives on being part of the family, whether it's lounging in the backyard, joining for a leisurely walk, or claiming the coziest spot for a nap. He enjoys exploring but isn't a high-energy athlete. A couple of daily walks and quality time with his people are all he needs. His foster family, who live on a farm, have noted that even with the freedom of the property, Grover stays close to his foster dad and is excellent both on and off leash.
He is completely house-trained and exhibits excellent indoor manners. Grover settles in nicely, gets along with everyone he meets, is not destructive, and appreciates a comfy bed after his adventures. His ideal forever home would be filled with plenty of affection, a soft place to sleep, and people who cherish having a devoted canine companion by their side. While he may be a little shy initially, he quickly warms up and will be happily rolling over for belly rubs within minutes.
Grover has proven to be good with other dogs, farm animals, and enjoys making new friends. His gentle and friendly nature quickly wins over both people and animals with his charming personality. We suspect he might be a hound or cattle dog mix, but he's quite the unicorn if so, being a low-energy, quiet dog!
Grover is currently completing his heartworm treatment and will be ready to travel to his new home in July. He is truly one of the easiest and most loving dogs around. Whoever adopts Grover will be incredibly lucky, as he is impossible not to love.
