Ideal Home
Merle would thrive in a semi-active home where he can be an integral part of the daily rhythm, joining in on errands, outings, or simply relaxing at home. He'd be happiest in a home with a large, fenced backyard rather than an apartment, giving him space to stretch his legs and enjoy sunny days. While he's been great with children as young as 5 and enjoys being included in family fun, Merle truly shines as the center of attention and would do best in an only-dog home.
Ongoing Health
Merle is a rescue, so breed and age are estimates. He is up-to-date on all vetting, including DAPP with booster, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines, multiple deworming treatments, and flea and heartworm prevention.
Training & Support
Merle is treat-motivated and eager to please, making him a joy to train. He walks well on a leash, only pulling occasionally out of excitement or to greet a friend. He knows basic commands like "sit" and is ready to learn more, which will be a wonderful bonding experience.

Merle is located in the Houston, Texas area. We offer nationwide transport through our USDA-certified rescue transport system. Drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada (with pick-up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). Real-time tracking and photo updates are available during transport. An $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs.
