About RITCHEY ROO (aka Richard)

Ritchey Roo, estimated to be 5-6 years old, is a joyful and affectionate companion who truly embodies the spirit of a best friend. He's a delightful mix of laid-back lounging and bursts of exuberant energy, always ready to greet you with a wagging tail. Ritchey loves to be by your side, whether it's snuggling on the couch or enjoying time in a fenced yard. He's house-trained and comfortable being left alone for periods. While he can be a quiet observer, he also knows how to express his happiness with enthusiastic greetings, especially when a leash or food is involved. He can be a bit of a gentle giant, and his excitement might lead to some jumping, but with a little guidance, he's a quick learner. Ritchey is a vocal boy who only "speaks" when he has something important to say, often with a humorous touch. He came to us underweight, and at his current 90 lbs, he's ready for a more balanced diet and increased activity. He's mastered the "OVER" command for bed-sharing, showing his willingness to compromise. Ritchey enjoys car rides and walks, though he does require leash training as he can be a strong puller. He's content with lounging at home or exploring the yard, and while he loves company, he's also independent enough to entertain himself. He's adapted well to foster and boarding environments, always being a favorite due to his easygoing nature and good company.

Ideal Home

Ritchey would thrive in a home where he can be the cherished only pet, receiving all the love and attention. A fenced yard would be a great addition for his exercise and enjoyment.

Ongoing Health

Ritchey was underweight upon arrival and is now a healthy 90 lbs. He could benefit from a diet and increased physical activity to reach an ideal weight.

Training & Support

Ritchey is house-trained and has learned the "OVER" command for personal space. He will need ongoing leash training to manage his pulling. His enthusiastic greetings can sometimes involve jumping, which can be managed with consistent training.
