Meet Cheri's Country Canines. Cheri's Country Canines is a licensed breeder in rural Pierce County Washington between Tacoma and Puyallup. Our operation was named in honor of our resident dog and animal whisper Cheri. She has been around animals all her life and raising goldens since 2015. Before her auto accident in 2012 Cheri was a full-time farmer and fondly known as the Pig Lady around the area. After her last reconstructive surgery in 2013 she received her service dog Obie. Obie changed her life forever and she rewarded him by giving him a farm to grow old on and a wonderful collection of dogs to be bred. Matt and Leah who established the business to create a purpose for Cheri and Obie were pleased to find that Obie passed on his characteristics to his puppies. The puppies were as smart and as instinctive as Obie and quickly won the hearts of their new families and became favorites around our community. We strive to create animals capable of changing your lives the way Obie changed ours! We focus on temperament and train-ability. Our dogs are raised on the farm with a horse, sheep, cows, goats, cats, and chickens. With fields to run through and a creek to play in. We have four generations in our family so all of our dogs are loved by infants, children, adults and seniors. All of this comes together to produce happy, healthy, and well rounded puppies for you and your family. We welcome you to come out and tour the farm, meet the parents and see how your puppy is raised. If you decide that we are the breeders for you...then you can place your deposit of $300 to hold your puppy pick number. At about 5-6 weeks, when the puppies have begun to develop their personalities, they are ready to start picking their humans. We love to see the moment when that spark hits and puppy and human both know that it was meant to be! AKC proudly supports dedicated and responsible breeders. We encourage all prospective puppy owners to do their research and be prepared with questions to ask the breeder. Make sure you are not only choosing the right breed for you, but also that you’re getting it from the right individual.
