Meet Lessie, a gentle and shy girl looking for a second chance at happiness. She was unfortunately abandoned and tied to our shelter's fence in Mexico, but despite her difficult past, she is incredibly sweet and loves the company of other dogs.
Lessie is showing wonderful progress with confidence building and leash walking, thanks to our dedicated dog trainer. However, the bustling shelter environment can be a bit overwhelming for her. She is a nervous girl initially and will thrive with a patient and experienced adopter who can help her feel safe and loved.

Lessie would do best in a quiet, calm, and predictable home environment. She is looking for a home with teens or adults only, as young children may be too much for her sensitive nature. A spacious yard, a ranch, or an adopter who enjoys hiking trails would be perfect for her. Having another friendly dog in the home would be a wonderful bonus, as she enjoys canine companionship. Transporation
Lessie is located near Bucerias, Mexico. We facilitate adoptions to the US and Canada. Approved adopters will be matched with flight companions traveling from Puerto Vallarta. You will meet your new pup at the airport. During the summer months, if a Canadian flight companion is unavailable, dogs may fly into the US and be picked up at Peace Arch Park at the border. Volunteers have successfully assisted with transport to the border during summer months.
