Meet Trout!

This handsome 2-year-old pup, weighing 54 lbs, was rescued from a euthanasia list and is now thriving in foster care. Trout is surprisingly chill for someone who looks like an athlete. While he enjoys hikes and playtime with his dog friends, his favorite pastime is relaxing upside down on the couch. He can be a bit shy when first meeting new people, needing a few minutes to warm up, but once he trusts you, he's a loyal companion. Trout is kennel and potty trained, walks well on a leash, and knows how to sit. He gets along great with other dogs of all sizes. However, he shows a strong interest in squirrels and cats, so a home without a feline roommate might be best. His one "tiny flaw" is his strong aversion to taking medicine, which he cleverly evades. Trout's dream is an active home that includes him in adventures like camping and fishing.

Ideal Home

Trout would love a home that includes him in life's adventures, whether it's camping trips, fishing weekends, or lazy evenings by the fire. A home without a feline roommate is recommended due to his strong prey drive.

Ongoing Health

Trout is currently undergoing heartworm treatment and will be ready for transport in mid-to-late July. He is fully vetted, neutered, and current on preventatives.

Training & Support

Trout is kennel trained, potty trained, walks beautifully on leash, and knows how to sit. He needs a little time to warm up to new people. He is very good at evading medication.

Transporation

Trout is being fostered in Houston, Texas, but is available for transport to many areas across the country. His adoption fee includes transport.
