Meet Pola, a truly extraordinary German Shepherd with a heart as beautiful as his spirit.

Pola's journey begins in Azerbaijan, where stray and abandoned animals often face unimaginable hardships. Despite the challenges he has endured, Pola has remained gentle, trusting, and full of love. Now, this special boy is searching for the forever family he has always deserved! Pola is blind, but don't let that fool you—he is incredibly intelligent and adapts remarkably well to his surroundings. Once he learns an environment, he navigates it with confidence. The shelter staff who know him best describe him as calm, curious, playful, and exceptionally kind. More than anything, Pola longs for a family to call his own. He is 4.5 years old, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Ideal Home

Pola would be happiest as an only dog or with just one canine companion, where he can soak up all the love and affection he's been missing. Because of his blindness, we believe a home with older, respectful children would be the best fit!

Ongoing Health

Pola is blind. The vet in Azerbaijan attempted to neuter him twice, but he is very sensitive to anesthesia, and the vet did not proceed with surgery. We are not proceeding with neutering due to his sensitivity.

Training & Support

Pola navigates familiar spaces very well despite his blindness. He is a calm and kind dog who is desperate for a family of his own.
